PURPOSE:To enable production of good ball ingots by disposing circularly plural metallic mold flasks contg. split patterns around a horizontal revolving shaft, revolving and rotating intermittently the flasks and performing pouring and carrying in and out of the metallic molds in prescribed positions. CONSTITUTION:Four metallic mold flasks 14 contg. metallic molds 36... are circularly disposed at the phase of 90 deg. intervals to a horizontal revolving shaft 24. One flask 14 is put in a pouring position A by a revolving device and a molten metal is poured into the molds 36... by a pouring device. The flask 14 is revolved and rotated 90 deg. to a carrying-in and out position B and the molds 36... carried out by a cylinder 16 are opened by an open/shut device 29, by which ingots are discharged. The molds 36... contained again in the flask 14 is revolved and rotated 90 deg. to the blow position and the moisture in the molds 36... is removed by a blowing device. Each of the molds 36... is provided with a sprue and air vent to the spherical cavity consisting of a pair of split patterns. The production of the ball ingots each having a good spherical surface is thus made possible.
