PURPOSE:To reduce combustion noises and vibrations in an internal-combustion engine as well as to prevent an exhaust gas component from deteriorating, by checking a degree of variations in ignition timing. CONSTITUTION:Crank angle signal pulse separation Tn and ignition timing Ta are calculated from a comparison between a signal out of an ignition sensor 7 and a crank angle reference signal out of a crank angle sensor 8, and this calculated value is stored in a random access memory 12c. Next, an engine speed NE is calculated from the said separation Tn. And, the arithmetical mean is calculated from the latest data of the said ignition timing Ta. Then, a variation degree Wa in ignition timing is also calculated. Here, an allowable variation degree Ws in the ignition timing that makes the engine speed NE and the mean ignition timing a parameter, is compared with the variation degree Wa of the said ignition timing, and when Wa>Ws is the case, an energizing command is issued to a glow plug 5. Therefore, ignitability in fuel is improved and variations in the ignition timing is checkable so that even in case of what kind of engine running state, smooth combustion is attainable, thus engine noises and vibrations are reduced. |
