PURPOSE:To finish continuously thin slabs into a hot rolled steel strip having small sheet crown and excellent flatness by forming feed rolls and backup rolls into a variable crown four-rolls and providing roll guides to be located between both rolls to a common housing. CONSTITUTION:After being rolled by feed rolls 13a, 13b, a rolling material 2 is bent by guide rolls 23, 26, 27, 9 to prevent it from generating buckling between the rolls 13a, 13b and work rolls 11a, 11b. And a push-in force is provided to the material 2 by adjusting the speeds of said both rolls to bite easily its front tip by the work rolls 11a, 11b. Further, variable crown rolls are used as the backup rolls 12a, 12b to prevent the deflection of rolls 11a, 11b. By this constitution, high rolling reduction can be performed by a single stand, a rolling line is therefore simplified, and consumption of heat energy is remarkably reduced. |
