PURPOSE:To obtain uniform scorched color of bread regardless of the number of pieces of bread, by setting the scorching time for bread by the opening or closing state of electrical contact points of a sensor, which senses whether a material to be cooked is laid on a rack, and of which electrical contact points are opened and closed by a sensing lever which touches a material to be cooked, in an electric cooker such as an oven toaster. CONSTITUTION:For example, when two pieces of bread 8 are put on a wire net rack 3, the bread 8 actuates a sensing lever 4, which is moved down. Interlocked with the closing action of a door, the rack 3 is moved into a heating chamber. The lowered free end of a sensing lever 4 touches the tip of the lever 6 of a sensing switch 5, to close its contact points. When toasting operation is started in this state, a controller senses the closed states of contact points, and the time to toast two pieces of bread is set in an electronic timer 7. When one piece of bread is toastes, a bread 8 is to be placed on the side of a rack where the lever 4 is not assembled in, so that the time to toast one piece of bread can be set in a toaster, with the switch 5 remains open. In such a manner, the same brown scorched color can be put on bread regardless of the number of pieces of bread to be toasted. |
