PURPOSE:To enable reduction in electric power consumption and quantity of generated heat and to provide a longer life of a photosensitive body and a lower running cost of an electrophotographic copying machine by forming a means for exposing an original and a means for forming an electrostatic latent image of the image except an original image of a light emitting diode array. CONSTITUTION:A monolithic light emitting diode array (LED array) 15 for forming an electrostatic latent image except an original image is provided in part above a short focus lens array 14 on a photosensitive drum 13. A corotron 16 for electrification for the purpose of electrifying the drum 13 uniformly to plus is secured to the upper stream side of the array 14 and an exposing lamp 17 consisting of an LED array for illuminating an original surface is provided above the corotron 16. A holder 44 for holding the array 15 is mounted on the array 14 across the array. A lead screw 45 extending in parallel with the rotating axial line of the drum 13 is inserted into the holder 44. When the screw 45 rotates, the holder 44 moves in parallel with the axial line of the lead screw 45.
