PURPOSE:To shorten considerably the discrimination period of a pattern member by detecting position displacement in recognition of a specific pattern member and offering the result for the correction in case of recognition of a pattern member other than that. CONSTITUTION:Prior to matching displacement of a position between a specific pattern member among the patterns to be inspected and these related dictionary pattern member is detected by a detection circuit 11 for detecting displacement. A device corrects, using the resulted displacement, an address generated from a pattern matching address control circuit 6 which access to memories 8 and 9, inputs pattern members except those stated above, a pattern matching circuit 10 by using the corrected address under the control of the above pattern matching address control circuit 6 to match in pattern, supplies the results to a decision circuit 12 and outputs coincidence or dissidence of such pattern from an output device 13. |
