PURPOSE:To couple each end face of an optical fiber with a high dimension accuracy, at a low cost and also by a simple work, by providing peripherally a magnetic material for operating a magnetic absorptivity, on the end part of the optical fiber to be coupled. CONSTITUTION:Connector outer cylinders 5a, 5b are installed to two optical fibers 1a, 1b, respectively, and both of them are screwed by a screw. As coupling of both the connector outer cylinders 5a, 5b is deepened by feeding the screw, each end face of the optical fibers 1a, 1b approaches each other by a magnetic attraction of magnetic material films 4a, 4b provided on the circumference of the optical fibers 1a, 1b. Also, the end faces of the optical fibers 1a, 1b are positioned exactly, and in the end, they are coupled exactly without a gap. |
