PURPOSE:To utilize energy accumulated underground in an stable and efficient manner by operating a water interrupter which connects and disconnects a communicating section between respective water layers and respective wells. CONSTITUTION:When the water layer 41 of a well 2 is the best in the water collection and heat accumulation properties in the summer time operation, the air is bled from a water interrupter 121 to connect the water layer 41 and well 2, and at the same time, pressurized air is supplied to water interrupters 122, 123 to expand them so as to interrupt the connection between the well 2 and water layers 42, 43 having inferior water collection and heat accumulation properties. When the water layer 43 of a well 3 is the best in the water collection and heat accumulation properties, the air is bled from a water interrupter 133 to connect the well 3 and the water layer 43, and at the same time, pressurized air is supplied to water interrupters 131, 132 to expand them so as to interrupt the connecttion between the well 3 and the water layers 41, 42 having inferior water collection and heat accumulation properties. A pump 18b is operated to lift the ground water (cold water) collected in the water layer during the winter season, and hot water heated by a heat exchanger 16 is returned to the well 2 to be absorbed by the water layer 41. In this manner, the energy of the cold water in the water layers can efficiently be used.
