The invention relates to aminoglycosides of the general formulae <IMAGE> in which R1 is a group of the formulae <IMAGE> where the radicals R11 are identical or different and are hydrogen, a lower alkyl, a lower hydroxyalkyl or a lower aminoalkyl group and n is 2 or 3, R2 is OH or NH2, R3 is hydrogen or OH, R4 is hydrogen or OH, R5 is NH2 or NHCH3 and, when R2 is NH2, also OH, R6 is hydrogen or CH3, R7 is hydrogen or a group of the formulae <IMAGE> where R9 is hydrogen or a group of the formulae <IMAGE> and R10 is hydrogen or a group of the formula <IMAGE> R8 is hydrogen or a group of the formulae <IMAGE> with certain restrictions, and processes for the preparation thereof and the use thereof as pharmaceuticals.
