The invention is based on a jack with a lever which can be swivelled upwards by means of a shaft, receives loads and is mounted on a chassis. In order to be able to use these jacks even when the material to be transported projects beyond the sides of the rolling plate or the like to which the jack has to be attached, on the basis of the invention the shaft is not connected to the lever directly but rather indirectly via a horizontal pulling rod, the shaft also having a separate running gear which is connected to the roller running gear of the lever with spacing.
