摘要 An electrooptical omnidirectional mouse system for controlling the motion of a cursor comprises a mouse which can be moved over a plane surface regardless of the angular orientation of the mouse with respect to the pattern or the shape on the surface. The surface comprises reflecting areas which are separated by non-reflecting areas (areas separated by strip segments). A light source is permanently connected to the mouse housing and arranged in order to radiate light which is incident on the surface. Four photodetectors are permanently connected to the housing and arranged for receiving the light subsequently reflected. The photodetectors output signals as a function of the incident light when the mouse is moving over the plane surface. Amplifiers and comparators convert this output signal into a binary coded signal which is transferred to a microcomputer. The microcomputer decodes the binary pattern into distance and direction data and then processes these data in order to form position signals for controlling the cursor. The surface determined is optically imaged on the photodetectors so that the width of the line signal is optically magnified in order to correspond to the distance between the outer one of each detector. <IMAGE>
