Process for the fat-liquoring and water-repellent finishing of tanned leathers and hides, by fat-liquoring the tanned leather or hide with an aqueous dispersion which contains an optionally chemically modified, natural leather fat-liquoring agent, and a surface-active phosphoric acid partial ester and optionally a non-ionic and/or an anionic carboxyl and/or sulpho group-containing surfactant, and then aftertreating the fat-liquored leather or hide with a polyvalent metal cation in aqueous medium, and also the corresponding dispersions for carrying out the process according to the invention.
