PURPOSE:To omit preprocesses including the generation, normalization of a multiple of a divisor and to simplify the constitution of a division device, by calculating only a carry in a full addition mode without carrying out no full addition. CONSTITUTION:A binary division device of a division device is formed by connecting two carry reservation adders 1 and 3 and a half-carry adder 5 in two steps and in a tree form. The input data to be given to the adder 1 are decided by selectors 8-11. The half-addition value HSM and the half-carry value HCM delivered by the adder 1 are shifted to the left by a bit and supplied to adders 3 and 5 respectively. Then the divisor DR is supplied to the rest input of the adder 5; while the complement value of the divisor DR is supplied to the rest input of the adder 3. The half-addition value HSS and the half-carry value HCS given from the adder 3 and the output HCA given from the adder 5 are processed by the carry foreseeing circuit 2. Thus the preprocesses including the generation and normalization of a multiple of the divisor can be omitted for simplification of a division device. |
