Bicyclic pyrazole sulfonylureas of the general formula
<CHEM>
wherein L is an optionally substituted bicyclic pyrazole residue;
R is H or CH3; and
A is a mono- or bicyclic heterocyclic group, especially pyrimidine or triazine,
exhibit herbicidal activity. Some compounds also exhibit a plant growth regulant effect.
<??>The novel compounds may be formulated into compositions by conventional methods. They may be made e.g. by reacting the appropriate heterocyclic amine RNHA with the appropriate sulfonyl isocyanate LSO2NCO.
