PURPOSE:To prevent electric corrosion and to improve the reliability by forming a hydrophobic insulating sealing part at a position adjacent to a sealant so as to cover a metallic terminal extending from the sealant to an electrically coupling member for coupling the display panel to a driving circuit. CONSTITUTION:An upper substrate 1 having a formed transparent electrode 5 is combined with an under substrate 2 with a sealant 3 in-between, a liq. crystal 4 is injected into the gap between the substrates 1,2, and a metallic terminal 51 formed on the substrate 1 is electrically connected to a circit board B1 with electrically conductive rubber A1. A hydrophobic insulating member 61 is placed at a position adjacent to the sealant 3 so as to cover the terminal 51 extending from the rubber A1 to the sealant 3. Thus, the desired display device is obtd. A polyimide silicone film or the like is suitable for use as the insulating member 61. Polyimide silicone is manufactured by reacting carboxylic acid anhydride with diamine and diaminosiloxane and subjecting the resulting polyimide acid to dehydration ring closure. |
