PURPOSE:To increase room cooling capacity temporarily and improve dehumidifying effect by a method wherein a correcting control means, driving a compressor temporarily with a frequency higher than a predetermined frequency under a light load condition in which the revolving number variable type compressor is driven with a predetermined frequency for a predetermined period of time continuously, is provided in the device. CONSTITUTION:A frequency converter 22, controlling the revolving number of the revolving number variable type compressor 3 based on a frequency setting signal from a microcomputer 21, is provided to count the count time T of a dehumidifying timer and detect that the light load condition wherein the frequency setting signal lower than the predetermined frequency fo is being generated is continued for a predetermined period of time T1. When the light load condition is detected, the microcomputer 21 generates the setting signal of frequency f1, higher than the predetermined frequency fo, temporarily for a predetermined period of time T2. Accordingly, the revolving number variable type compressor 3 is driven periodically and the dehumidification of the inside of a room may be effected effectively.
