A brush roller is fitted between two pivotal arms extending backwards from a common axle for the wheels, and coupled to the wheels via a transmission. As the wheels rotate, the roller is also made to rotate, although with a greater speed than the wheels, and in the opposite direction to them. Between the brush roller and the wheel axle is an are shaped guide plate extending from the area of the lower part of the roller to an intake aperture in the container. The plate guides the sweepings into it when they are projected forwards from the brush roller as it rotates. |
