PURPOSE:To perform effective coal liquefaction with hydrogenation, by preheating a slurry comprising pulverized coal, medium oil and iron-based catalyst followed by feeding the slurry to the liquefaction zone while incorporating the system with sulfur co-catalyst to prevent the iron-based catalyst from attaching on the inner wall (of the reactor or preheating vessel). CONSTITUTION:Coal slurry is prepared by feeding to tank 1 with agitator (A) pulverized coal 1 (B) iron-based catalyst 3 and (C) medium oil 4. This slurry is preheated followed by feeding to hydrogenation liquefaction zone 7, while feeding sulfurbased co-catalyst to either said preheated slurry or the above liquefaction zone, thus performing the objective coal liquefaction.
