PURPOSE:To perform classification having excellent performance with less energy consumption by electrostatically charging particle grain to be treated on a classification plate and applying electrostatic power and mechanical driving force in the different directions. CONSTITUTION:While vibrating and moving the material to be treated which has been supplied on a classification plate 1 along a slant, the fine powder having a small grain size among the particles to be treated is driven by the electrostatic power due to interaction between the vibration and the moving electric field of electrode 7 in the direction of said moving electric field. By this method, since the coarse powder having a large grain size and the fine powder having a small grain size are fractionated, the classification having high performance is performed without clogging with less energy consumption.
