<p>The equipment comprises a carrier (2) and a spreader (3) which is hitched to the carrier (2) at three points (126, 101). Two of these points (101) are provided at the ends of carrying arms (61) which are parts of bell-crank levers (57, 58). A hydraulic adjusting member (65) acts on the bell-crank levers (57, 58) to raise and lower the spreader (3) relatively to the carrier (2). For example, the spreader (3) may be raised in order to distribute fertilizer over standing crop. An auger (36) is provided for feeding the material to be distributed from a hopper (20) on the carrier (2) to a trough (82) on the spreader (3). Operation of the auger (36) may take place in response to the weight of material in the through (82), as sensed at the adjusting member (65), in order to keep the amount of materials in the trough (82) between desired limits.</p> |
