An array element suitable for forming a wall-mounted file container has a rear wall (1) intended to be fixed to a vertical supporting wall and a front wall (2) inclined obliquely forwards relative to this rear wall. In order to connect adjoining array elements, the rear wall of each element has both windows (6) and hook elements (9), and in order to connect adjoining array elements, the upper elements in each case are suspended by means of their windows in hook elements of the next array element below them. <IMAGE>
