Equipment by means of which the numbers of boxes in incomplete stacks of boxes fed forwards on a conveyor can be increased to a certain desired number of boxes. According to the invention, this is achieved by means of equipment which includes a vertical support structure (1) mounted alongside the conveyor for the boxes, which said support structure supports two pairs of lifting arms (2, 4) extending in opposite directions above the conveyor carrying the boxes. The pairs of lifting arms can be raised and lowered together as supported on the support structure. The support structure additionally comprises a limit stop (3), which is placed at the height corresponding to the desired number of boxes and which notifies the control system of the equipment when the topmost box in the stack of boxes lifted in the equalizing position of the equipment has reached the upper position, at which stage the control system gives the lifting arms rising in the feeding position the command to grasp. The equipment also includes a logic control circuit operating in accordance with impulses coming from the sensing members and controlling the operation of the equipment so that the equipment completes the incomplete stack raised in the equalizing position by guiding the necessary number of lowermost boxes from the stack passed to the feeding position to underneath the raised stack. |
