PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of the titled compound by directly using a specified TDI distillation residue without any step of modification or pulverization, by reacting said residue with a polyol in the presence of an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A TDI distillation residue comprising 30-70wt% toluene diisocyanate left after distilling a phosgenation product of toluenediamine and 70- 30wt% nondistillable tar-like by-product of phosgenation is reacted with a polyol of a MW of 62-7,000 and an average functionality of 2-4 (e.g., diethylene glcyol) in the presence of an organic solvent (e.g., monochlorobenzene) to obtain the titled compound of an OH value of 200-700mgKOH/g. This compound is reacted with an organic polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent to obtain a polyurethane foam. |
