PURPOSE:The titled glaze, obtained by preparing a composition from SiO2, Al2O3, La2O3, CaO and BaO in a specific proportion, and having improved heat resistance and surface smoothness. CONSTITUTION:A glaze composition for a ceramic substrate, obtained by preparing a composition containing 58-75mol SiO2, 2-15mol% Al2O3, 0.5-5mol% La2O3, 2-20mol% CaO and 1-13mol% BaO and if necessary one or more selected from <=25mol% SrO, <=2mol% MgO, <=7mol% B2O3 and <=5mol% Y2O3. The resultant composition has improved matching properties with the ceramic substrate, and shows high reliability in repeated use even under severe conditions.
