PURPOSE:To enable a sprag or a roller to be stably rotated, and as well to obtain a long-life one-way clutch, by providing a section where a wedge angle is reduced before a roll member reaches its shift position. CONSTITUTION:The outer ring side cam surface 32 of a sprag 30 has a predetermined curvature surface with respect to the center Oo, and the inner ring side cam surface 34 has a predetermined curvature from the eccentric center Oi to an inflexion point 34a'. Further, the inner side cam surface 34 has a curvature with which an included angle between a line extending from the center of the inner ring to the contact point of the sprag 30 with respect to the inner ring and a line connecting between the contact points of the sprag 30 with respect to the inner and outer rings, is decreased. In the case of that an overtorque is effected exceeding the inflection point 34a', the height of the sprag 30 becomes lower than that of an annular space between the inner and outer rings to effect idle rotation.
