A sauna oven (14) comprises a jacket (16) made of a heat-resistant material and retained in a frame (15). A basket (17) containing stones (19) is inserted in the top of the frame (15). A heating device (20) for heating of the sauna room (11) is fitted below the basket (17). In order to operate different sauna modes, for example the steam sauna mode or the bio-steam sauna mode besides the dry sauna mode, which are each characterised by different ratios of sauna temperature to atmospheric humidity, an evaporation tub (24) for liquid is located below the oven (14) at a distance from the bottom (23) thereof. A heating device (25) is installed in this evaporation tub (24). For generation of the different sauna modes the heating device (25) can be switched at pre-determined temperature values of the controllable heating device (20) of the oven (14). <IMAGE>
