The invention is based on a motor-driven telescopic antenna for the long wave, medium wave, short wave and VHF broadcast radio bands, whose length in the extended state is approximately a quarter of the mean operating wavelength in the VHF band. In order when required to increase the receivable and transmittable radio-frequency energy in the long wave, medium wave and short wave bands in a manner which is as simple and cost-effective as possible, the innermost telescopic element of the motor antenna is of tubular construction and an additional rod-shaped antenna, which is conductively connected thereto, is arranged therein such that it can be displaced axially. A construction of the additional antenna as a telescope which can be displaced and closed by hand is particularly simple and expedient for practical application.
