PURPOSE:To improve the utilizing efficiency of a recording paper sheet by turning picture information of an original by nearly 90 deg. depending on the size of the recording paper and transmission picture information and transmitting the information. CONSTITUTION:A DIS signal detecting circuit 13 detects the information of recording paper size included in a facsimile information field of a DIS signal. The recording paper size information is applied to a control circuit 21. On the other hand, an original width detecting circuit detects the width of the original. The size information of the original is applied to the control circuit 21. Then the control 21 transmits the information after the picture information of the original stored in a memory 17 is turned nearly by 90 deg. in response to the supplied both size information and read. Since the recording paper is used without waste, the utilizing efficiency of the recording paper is improved.
