PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material superior in storage stability and high in contrast by forming a silver iodobromide emulsion layer contg. a rhodium salt on a support, and incorporating a 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone deriv. and hydroquinone in a photographic layer. CONSTITUTION:A silver iodobromide layer contg. a rhodium salt, such as rhodium chloride, formed on a support, or the layer adjacent to this layer contains, in an amt. of 0.2-5g per mol of silver iodobromide, 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone deriv. represented by the formula (R1 is H or acetyl, and each of R2, R3, and R4 is H or alkyl), practicably such as 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone or 1-phenyl-4-methyl-3- pyrazolidone, and about 1-20g of hydroquinone per mol of silver iodobromide to obtain an intended silver halide photosensitive material. |
