PURPOSE:To measure the density of an original easily with high precision and to enhance operation efficiency by forming a mobile photodetector for measuring the densities of optional points of the original and a light source moving means for causing the light source to follow the movement of the photodetector. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 16 for measuring the densities of optional points of an original 14 are movably arranged on the light diffusive original stand 12 on which the original 14 is placed. A standard light source 22 uniform in the distribution of emission light intensity is arranged below the stand 12, and a light source moving means connected magnetically with the photodetector 16 and capable of causing the source 22 to follow the movement of the photodetector 16 is installed. The magnetism of the electromagnet of a cursor 18 is detected with Hall elements 26-1-26-4 of the source 22 moving means, the source 22 is allowed to follow the cursor 18, the densities of optional points of the original 14 are measured, the measured signals are fed to an operational controller 20, and the densities are displayed. |
