A dentifrice containing a siliceous polishing material and binding or gelling agent including resinous poly(ethylene oxide). The polishing agent flocculates in the presence of the resinous poly(ethylene oxide) and provides the dentifrice with desirable stain removal effectiveness without unduly raising dentin abrasion.
