PURPOSE:To enhance shelf stability, jetting stability, jetting response and continuous recordability of the recording liquid, by having a specific diphenyl derivative contained in the recording liquid for an ink jet recording system. CONSTITUTION:In the recording liquid for the ink jet recording system in which a recording signal is given to the recording head having a piezo oscillator and recording is made by flying droplets of the recording liquid in response to the signal, about 5-90% compound represented by the formula, where R1 and R2 are 1-4C lower alkyl (e.g., 4,4'-diethyldiphenyl) is contained, based on the total weight of the recording liquid. The compound is mixed with a necessary nonaqueous liquid medium (e.g., ethyl alcohol, diethylene glycol), dye, pigment, etc. to obtain the object recording liquid. The compound of the formula has a function of enhancing the solubility of a recording agent such as the dye and the like in the liquid medium and effectively prevents the formation of solid matter causing the clogging of a jetting, orifice. |
