PURPOSE:To lubricate uniformly upper and lower work rolls by specifying the diameters of work rolls and the passing direction of a material in a four-high mill whose work roll of one side is offset in the prescribed direction and is capable of horizontal bending. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower work rolls 1, 3 are equal in diameter, and the roll 3 is offset in the direction parallel to the advancing direction of a metallic material S. The centers of rolls 1, 3 and that of an upper backup roll 5 are positioned on the same straight line l1. Further, vertical roll bending devices 9, 10, and 11 are installed between the roll chocks 2, 4 of rolls 1, 3, the roll chocks 2, 6 of rolls 1, 5, and the roll chocks 4, 8 of roll 3 and lower backup roll 7, respectively. And a horizontal bending device 12 is installed at the outlet side of the stand of roll 3. Then, the strip S is passed between the rolls 1, 3 in the direction approximately perpendicular to the straight line l1 to control the shape of strip S by the devices 9-12. |
