PURPOSE:To provide the titled molding having excellent water-tightness, waterproofness, flexibility, impact resistance, etc. by blending a specified glass fiber strand with asphalt or mixture of asphalt, a filler and a fine aggregate and molding the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:0.5-10vol% glass fiber having a length of 12mm. or above is incorporated in an asphalt mixture obtd. by mixing asphalt having a softening point (ring and ball method) of 40-130 deg.C and a penetration (25 deg.C) of 10-120, a filler (e.g. talc) and 0-90wt% fine aggregate. The mixture is put in a mold having the required shape and molded into a plate or block. EFFECT:Asphalt moldings having excellent resistance to heat, cold and shearing, dimensional stability, strength and damping properties can be obtd. USE:Waterproof material, vibration insulator, paving material, joint filler for the joints of structures, etc.
