PURPOSE:To enable the storage of decocted liquid in high stability, by freezing the decocted liquid obtained by extracting crude drugs. CONSTITUTION:Crude drugs [e.g. Chinese crude drugs such as KAKKON (root of pueraria), KANZO (root of licorice), MAO (stalk of Ephedra sinica), KEIHI (bark of cinnamomum cassia), etc., folk drugs such as SENBURI (Swertia japonica), GENNOSHOKO (leaf, etc. of Geranium thunbergii), DOKUDAMI (lead of Houttuynia cordata), etc., and gerbs such as camomile, arnica, angelica, lathania, etc.] are extracted with water (optionally containing <=30% ethanol). The obtained decocted liquid is filled in a proper container (made of metal or plastic), and frozen in a freezing chamber to obtain a extracted liquid of crude drugs preservable for a long period without affecting the balance of the components of the extract. The decocted liquid may be incorporated with other additives (e.g. vitamins, minerals, royal jelly, fruit juice, etc.). The frozen liquid may be used as a raw material for the preparation of a product compounded with the decocted liquid, or used as a drink after thawing.
