Surge testing tank, incorporating a current generator. This generator includes two excavations of large surface area 2, 3 connected together by a channel 1 in which is installed a surge testing tank provided with beaters 14, 15 and damping areas 13, 26 which are transparent to the current and to parasitic long surges. The tank and the two excavations 2, 3 are dug directly in permeable ground 4 and are fed by the ground water. <IMAGE>
