For resetting to different sizes, a brick stacker is provided with gripping arms which can be adjusted in their distance from one another, have gripping strips or jaws and are fastened to sleeves displaceably guided on at least one cross member having a hollow profile. At least one sleeve is firmly connected to the cross member, and the other sleeve carrying the associated mating arm is connected by a pin, passing through the cross member in elongated holes, to one end of a pressure-medium piston/cylinder unit arranged in the cross member, which end of the piston/cylinder unit is provided with an eye and its other end is fastened to the cross member. In order to simplify the resetting to different sizes, the gripping strips or jaws (15, 16) are directly fastened to the sleeves (2, 3). The eye (10) is arranged on a slide (19, 20) displaceable in the cross member (1), and the pin (11) is provided with a releasable locking means (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
