PURPOSE:To read a magnetic pattern through a simple constitution and to attain the graphic with no trouble by arraying plural magnetic head elements in a row to a reading frame which moves in a single direction over a magnetic pattern drawn to a magnetic sheet. CONSTITUTION:A coil 3 is wound round a core 2 of ''Permalloy'' in plural turns to obtain a magnetic head element 1. Plural units of the element 1 are arrayed to an attachment frame 5 with a prescribed space W to obtain a magnetic head device 6. The frame 5 is attached movably to a rail 11 on a table 8, and a magnetic pattern 9 drawn to a magnetic sheet 7 set on the table 8 is scanned. The output given from a coil output terminal 2a of each element 1 is applied to a terminal circuit 13 to give individually the wave detection and rectification to each detection current. Then the current is amplified 14 and applied to a work indicating circuit 15, and a work machine 16 is controlled by the work indicating signal given from the circuit 15. This attains the easy reading of the pattern 9 with a simple constitution and secures the graphic tracing with no trouble.
