<p>The invention relates to substituted dihydro- benzopyrans carboxylates of the formula:

<UnorderedLists id="ula01" listStyle="none"><ListItem>a) hydrogen;</ListItem><ListItem>b) hydroxy;</ListItem><ListItem>c) =O; or</ListItem><ListItem>d) R<Sub>6</Sub>CH<Sub>2</Sub>O-; wherein R, is:</ListItem><ListItem>a) -COCH<Sub>3</Sub>;</ListItem><ListItem>b) -CHOHCH<Sub>3</Sub>;</ListItem><ListItem>c) -C<Sub>2</Sub>H<Sub>5</Sub>;</ListItem><ListItem>d) -hydrogen; or</ListItem><ListItem>e) -COOC<Sub>2</Sub>H<Sub>5</Sub> wherein R<Sub>2</Sub> is:</ListItem><ListItem>a) -hydrogen;</ListItem><ListItem>b) -hydroxy; or</ListItem><ListItem>c) R<Sub>12</Sub>CH<Sub>2</Sub>CO<Sub>2</Sub>-; wherein R<Sub>3</Sub>, R<Sub>4</Sub>, R<Sub>5</Sub>, R<Sub>7</Sub>, R<Sub>8</Sub>, R<Sub>9</Sub>, R<Sub>10</Sub>, R<Sub>11</Sub> and R<Sub>12</Sub> each of which may be the same or different, are:</ListItem><ListItem>a) hydrogen;</ListItem><ListItem>b) lower-alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms inclusive; or</ListItem><ListItem>c) allyl;</ListItem><ListItem>wherein R<Sub>5</Sub> is:</ListItem><ListItem>a) hydrogen; or</ListItem><ListItem>b) R<Sub>7</Sub>CH<Sub>2</Sub>C(O)-; wherein R<Sub>13</Sub> is hydrogen, hydroxy, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms inclusive, or -OM wherein M is an alkali metal, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, inclusive, or N⊕R<Sub>8</Sub>R<Sub>9</Sub>R<Sub>10</Sub>R<Sub>11</Sub>, or H⊕NR<Sub>8</Sub>R<Sub>9</Sub>R<Sub>10</Sub>, or the pharmacologically acceptable addition salts thereof, which are useful as leukotriene D<Sub>4</Sub> (LTD<Sub>4</Sub>) inhibitors and therefore useful in the treatment of allergies and inflammatory conditions.</ListItem></UnorderedLists></p> |
