<p>PURPOSE:To realize excellent function under superior operability by obtaining the largest width of characters and marks appearing in a line to compare this width with the length between the preceding and next lines and then extending automatically the length between both lines in case said largest width is longer than the length between both lines. CONSTITUTION:An input part 1 receives a character string to be displayed and its vertical width information and sends the character string equivalent to one line to a character string memory part 2 and also sends the vertical width of the character string to a largest width calculating part 3. The part 3 obtains the largest vertical width of characters equivalent to a line and stores it to a largest width memory part 4. Then a line space changing part 5 reads out the contents of a line space memory part 6 which are already given from another means to compare it with the value of the part 4. Then the part 5 changes the line space of the part 6 to the value obtained by subtracting the vertical width from the largest width of the part 4 in case it is decided that some inconvenience is caused with a display using the contents of the part 6. A display part 7 changes the line space according to the value of the part 6 and displays the contents of the part 2 to a display, a printer, etc.</p> |
