PURPOSE:To prevent double suction of plate pieces caused in case of sucking and conveying a comparatively thin plate piece in addition to a thick plate piece by disposing a small-diameter suction pad inside a trumpet-shaped large-diameter suction pad substantially concentrically. CONSTITUTION:Air is sucked from an air suction pipe 4 on large-diameter suction pad 1 side by operation of a valve 6, so that a thick plate is sucked and conveyed by strong suction extending over the wide range produced by the large-diameter suction pad 1. In this case, an air suction pipe 5 on smll-diameter adsorption pad 2 side is blocked up. In case of sucking and conveying a thin plate, the lower end outer peripheral edge portion 3 of the large-diameter suction pad 1 is elastically deformed to bring the small-diameter suction pad 2 into contact with the surface of a thin plate 7. After that, air is sucked from the air suction pipe 5 on the small-diameter adsorption pad 2 side by operation of the valve 6, so that only the uppermost thin plate 7 is bent and deformed in the small-diameter suction pad 2 by strong suction extending over the small range produced by the small-diameter suction pad 2, whereby an air layer 8 is produced between the thin plate and the lower thin plate 7 to prevent double-suction. |
