PURPOSE:To enable the relative parallelism of a reflection mirror with an output mirror to be maintained with good accuracy by a method wherein a laser tube is covered with an outer cylinder of mirror form in outer surface, and cooling air is made to pass between the outer cylinder and the laser tube. CONSTITUTION:The outer cylinder 9 has blowing holes 10 and exhaust holes 11 provided at the positions opposed to those of the holes 10 in part of the outer periphery, forms a mirror surface in the outer plane, and is so installed as to cover the laser tube 2. Besides, the blowing hole 10 side is provided with a blower 12 to supply cooling air to the gap between the laser tube 2 and the outer cylinder 9 via blowing holes 10. According to the cooling method of such a construction, the laser tube 2 can be cooled directly and uniformly by the action of thermal diffusion of the cooling air supplied from the blower 12, and by the action of radiated heat reflection due to the fact that the outside of the outer cylinder 9 is a mirror plane, leading no generating of distorsion caused by the difference in temperature. Therefore, the relative parallelism of the reflection mirror 1 with the output mirror 3 can be maintained with good accuracy. |
