PURPOSE:To prevent wasteful spending of data processing time and electric power caused by unnecessary carriage shift by arranging so that a carriage may only move to the last printing character data when there is blank data at the terminal of a line. CONSTITUTION:The following are provided: a line printing means 1 capable of printing by a single line, an input buffer 2 memorizing data worth a single line, a print buffer 7 memorizing data transferred from the input buffer 2 at a print starting signal, a reading means 3 capable of reading the content of the input buffer 2 sequentially at a print starting signal, a blank data detection means 4 to detect blank data in data which was read, a register 5 memorizing blank data temporarily, a line terminal detection means 6 to detect a line terminal and a control means 8 to transfer character data following the content of the register 5 to the print buffer 7 when the data has been read after blank data and prevent transfer of blank data in the register 5 to the print buffer 7 when a line terminal has been detected after blank data. |
