PURPOSE:To monitor two-dimensional objects by mixing images one-dimensionally with respect to a two-dimensional object to be monitored to focus these images on a one-dimensional image sensor in the monitor method which focuses images into the one-dimensional image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Since a columnar lens 2a whose section has a lens shape in an xy plane and is rectangular in an xz plane has the light converging capability in the xy plane but has not it in the xz plane, the image of an object 5a is focused as an image 6a long in the (z) direction on an image surface 3. Similarly, images of objects 5b-5e are focused as images 6b-6e long in the (z) direction on the image surface 3. Consequently, images 6a-6e of objects 5a-5e are detected by a one-dimensional image sensor 4 placed on the image surface 3 to detect changes such as movement or the like of objects 5a-5e. |
