PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of rearrangement of pcs. of output paper in the order of page, by selecting the address of the first character of each page in accordance with printing parameters and printing and outputting a document over plural pages from the last page on the basis of the addresses. CONSTITUTION:From data (M lines XN characters constituting one printing surface, number of characters between line changing codes of each end of paragraph, etc.) the total number of printing pages T and storing address Aj(P11) of codes of the first character, etc., of each page are calculated by means of a CPU1. The calculated value is stored in the data area of a pointer HLAP8 for the first character code asddress of each page which addresses from B0 to B0+ T-1 and a total number of page counter TPNC9. When printing start is inputted from a keyboard KB2 thereafter, the CPU1 extracts the data content of the address B0+T-1 of the pointer HLAP8 corresponding to the counter TPNC 9 as the first character of each page and successively prints succeeding characters by means of a printer PRT7.
