The invention relates to the transmission of electrical signals between distant locations. It relates to a device for simultaneous transmission of several electrical signals which includes two coupling devices 10 and 12 linked by optical fibres 14, 16. The parallel electrical signals 20 are put into the form of a serial data stream by a circuit 26 so that a single optical fibre 14 transmits all the signals. The latter are next put back into parallel form and transformed into electrical signals arriving at connection members 36. There is a one-to-one relation between the input connection members of one coupling device and the output connection members of the other coupling device.
