The invention relates to a membrane filter plate, composed of a base plate furnished with through-holes for the slurry inlet and filtrate outlet and furnished with recesses and at least one membrane having smaller surface dimensions which lies under the filter pressure on the surface of the recess designed for the uptake of the material to be filtered in the form of a pot-shaped recess and the swallow-tailed edge bead of which membrane is inserted into an annular recess which runs approximately parallel to the sealing edge of the base plate. It is the object of the invention to achieve correct fixing of the membrane on the base plate of the membrane filter plate in order to spare this and prevent damage to it. The invention achieves this in that the edge bead is arranged unsymmetrically to the central plane of the membrane on the side of the membrane facing the base plate and in that the edge of the pot-shaped recess runs parallel to the sealing plane of the base plate, extends to the annular swallow-tailed recess and runs displaced by about the thickness of the membrane to the edge plane of the base plate.
