Tool guiding arrangement

In the production of arcs on workpieces, in particular arcuate contours on rotationally symmetrical grooves of turned parts, there is a requirement for a simple, robust, easily operated and accurately adjustable tool guiding arrangement which can, in particular, also be designed as a slide permanently connected to the machine tool and should therefore also be suitable for other tool guiding functions involving the transmission of high forces. The solution to this object envisages a tool carrier (WT) with a cross-guide (KF) for the rotationally fixed displaceable mounting of the latter and a double-eccentric arrangement (EX1, EX2) with a facility (SK1, ZG1) for setting the relative rotation in order to determine the radius. By relative rotation (SK2, ZG2) of the double-eccentric arrangement - which, after the setting of the radius, is in itself rigid but mounted in a manner which allows it to rotate as a unit about an axis (Y) fixed with respect to the base - by means of a gear mechanism (GT), a translational circular-arc motion of the tool carrier (WT) with the set radius is effected. <IMAGE>
