Part of the flue gases from the gas or oilfired glass melting furnace is used to preheat the frit. The other part is used in a radiation recuperator to preheat the air of combustion. The two parts are then merged and used in a convective recuperator for an initial preheating of the air of combustion. One part of the flue gases from the melting furnace is directed to the preheater for frit in which the frit lies in a layer of under 5 cm thickness on a charging belt. Another part goes to the radiation recuperator to preheat the air of combustion to 800 deg.C. The two parts are merged at a convective recuperator which preheats the air of combustion from ambient to 500 deg.C. This recuperator is fitted with chains which are periodically vibrated to detach incrustations from the gas conducting tubes.
|
