In the case of control and monitoring devices in electrical installations, plug-in units are used which have a front panel (1) with control and display apparatuses (4), and a printed-circuit board (2) with the electronic components. The apparatuses of the front panel (1) and the elements of the printed-circuit board (2) are electrically connected via individual conductors or cable-harness connections. In order to avoid time-consuming and costly wiring, the front panel (1) and a second printed-circuit board (6) are arranged with respect to one another such that the control elements (4) of the front panel (1) at the same time take over mechanical retention of the second printed-circuit board (6), and the electrical connection of the display and control apparatuses (4) to the components on the printed-circuit boards (2, 6) takes place via flexible connectors (10). <IMAGE>
